Good Word Agency Brand Guidelines

06 Core Values

“An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.”

Bill Bernbach

Introduction

Our creative code. The operating beliefs that guide how we partner, think, create, and execute. They turn shared principles into daily standards for how we make decisions, measure the work, and hold ourselves accountable.

The gospel according to Good Word.

The four values follow the order of the work itself. Each one maps to a stage: Have Faith is trust, Find the Point is strategy, Create Courageously is creativity, and Respect the Work is execution.

Have Faith

Core Value 01 / 04 · Trust

Great work starts with mutual belief. We believe in our clients’ ambition, integrity, and potential; they believe in our process, taste, and creative judgment. That trust gives us room to ask harder questions, challenge safer assumptions, and make work neither side could have reached alone. Faith is not blind optimism. It’s the creative conditions for honesty, risk, and real partnership.

Find the Point

Core Value 02 / 04 · Strategy

Every brand has a point. The hard part is finding it, naming it, and refusing to bury it under category language. We look for the specific truth, perspective, or claim that makes a company unmistakably itself: its onlyness, the thing it can say with more authority than anyone else. Then we sharpen the work around that point until the brand becomes easier to understand, harder to confuse, and more worth believing.

Create Courageously

Core Value 03 / 04 · Creativity

The safest idea is rarely the one people remember. We respect collaboration, but we don’t confuse consensus with quality. Our job is to push past the expected. That means asking better questions, pushing for brave ideas, and refusing to let comfort become the creative standard. Courage does not mean reckless. It’s the discipline to choose the truer, more memorable path, even when the safer one would be easier to approve.

Respect the Work

Core Value 04 / 04 · Execution

Good ideas deserve good execution. Craft is where belief becomes visible: in the line, the edit, the frame, the system, the rhythm, the detail someone feels before they can explain why. Respecting the work means taking the extra pass, defending the better choice, and refusing to let carelessness make a good idea easier to dismiss. The standard is not perfection for its own sake. It is making the thing worthy of the belief behind it.
