Introduction

The crest is the oldest and most recognisable asset the Chapter has. It is paired with a Cinzel wordmark to form the Chapter lockups. This section covers the lockups, clearspace and colour use.

Logo System

Four approved versions. Use the horizontal lockup by default and the stacked lockup where the space is square or tall. The crest alone is for seals, medals, avatars and closing frames. Never set the wordmark without the crest.

Clearspace

Keep clear space around the logo equal to half the height of the crest. Nothing else (type, images or the edge of the frame) should enter that space.

Clearspace
Horizontal lockup

Keep clear space around the logo equal to half the height of the crest on every side. The crest itself should never be reproduced smaller than 24px on screen or 10mm in print, where its motto ring stops being legible.

Logo Usage

Use navy and gold on light grounds and ivory and champagne on navy or midnight. Keep the logo in the brand palette only.

Don’t
  • Redraw, simplify or recolour the crest outside master’s gold, heritage navy or ivory.
  • Separate the wordmark from the crest, or set the wordmark on its own.
  • Stretch, rotate, outline or add effects, shadows or gradients to the logo.
  • Place the logo on busy photography without a navy scrim behind it.
